Roughnecks Extend Win Streak to Four

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks scored 14 goals in the first half en route to a 19-13 triumph over the Toronto Rock during the Cardel Ruckus in the Rough House game Saturday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The Roughnecks, who built a 7-0 first quarter lead, now have wins in four-straight games.
Curtis Dickson dominated the Roughnecks attack with a career-high 10-point night, scoring six goals and setting up four others. Jeff Shattler (1g, 7a), Shawn Evans (1g, 7a), Dane Dobbie (4g, 2a) and Daryl Veltman (5a) all had strong performances for Calgary, while rookie Karsen Leung recorded a pair of goals and added two assists. Matthew Dinsdale (2g), Jon Harnett (1g), Dan MacRae (1g) and Geoff Snider (1g) also scored for the Roughnecks, who improve to 6-3 on the season.
With his 36th save of the game, Calgary goaltender Mike Poulin made franchise history, surpassing the club record for most career saves set by Curtis Palidwor at 2,117. Poulin, who finished the night with 48 saves, now has 2,130 regular season saves over 67 games played for Calgary.
The Rock received goals from six different players, including Stephan Leblanc who led the visitors with five goals and two assists.
Toronto goaltenders Nick Rose and Zak Boychuk combined for 31 saves in the setback.
The Roughnecks (6-3) will now travel to Denver on Saturday, March 8 for the third and final regular season meeting against the Colorado Mammoth (4-7). Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Pepsi Centre (TSN2).
