What I Do

Respect UConn Hoops
Basketball here is so huge, and to be recognized as a fellow female athlete along with the girls' basketball team is amazing. They're phenominal. Along with the men's basketball team, they put UConn on the map years ago. A lot of us look up to them. The lacrosse team wants to put UConn on the map just like they did. Stef Dolson and Breanna Stewart are amazing.
We do a motivational thing every week during fall season, and during the last week, they sent out a video of us getting our NCAA tournament bid last year. We watched it together and everybody was crying and being emotional. Watching that brings back so many good memories, and makes us excited for next year. I won't say everything last year was perfect, because I would have liked to see us go deeper in the tournament, but 2013 was phenominal. I can't wait for 2014.
Go With the Hot Hand
I used to wear gloves, especially when it was freezing out or if I knew a team was hacky, because I hate getting checked in the hald. But fr the Rutgers game last year, it was really hot out and I said, "I cannot wear these right now." And we won 8-7. I'd never beaten Rutgers before. That game propelled us into the season we had. I didn't wear gloves all fall. It's not just the gloves, either. I wear my hair the same way every game, same headband, same socks. (I wash them, obviously.) My same teammate, attacker Kacey Pippitt, has to braid my hair, too.
I've used the Amonte since freshman year, and I love it. In the picture (above), you can see the maroon-and-gold tape we all used to support Seton Hill. On my current stick, I have two sets of tape on the top, one in blue and one in an American flag pattern. I like the feeling of tape better than the feeling of my stick.
My Favorite Restaurant
Geno's Grille, which is owned by UConn women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma. It's a really good Italian restaurant. Order the chicken parm.
When I was younger, Mia Hamm was always my idol. I was infatuated with her. I played soccer when I was younger, and I thought she was the greatest thing ever. I had her jersey. She still inspires me.
