U.S. U19 Men's Team Visits Freedom Tower, 9/11 Memorial
The U.S. U19 men's national team got a up close and personal taste of what it means to represent the United States this weekend. The above picture, passed along by US Lacrosse Director of National Teams Nathaniel Badder, was taken Sunday on the 84th floor of the under-construction Freedom Tower in Lower Manhattan.
As part of a team weekend in New Jersey and New York City, the group also visited the 9/11 Memorial and listened to a talk from former Army men's lacrosse player John Fernandez, who lost his legs serving in Iraq. Fernandez, a spokesperson for the Wounded Warrior Project, spoke about honor, courage, committment and sacrifice.
The team also met Saturday in Mt. Lakes, N.J., where they held a youth clinic.
