Kelly Amonte Hiller of Northwestern University and John Desko of Syracuse University have been selected as the US Lacrosse Coaches of the Week for the week ending April 22. Both will be recognized on CSTV's lacrosse broadcasts this weekend.
Northwestern solidified its No. 1 national ranking with a 12-7 win over No. 2 Maryland last Monday and then went on the road to beat No. 13 Johns Hopkins 12-5 on Friday. Northwestern has won 12 straight since dropping its season opener.
Facing elimination from a potential NCAA tournament berth, Syracuse handed unbeaten and second-ranked Albany its first loss of the season on Friday. The Orange won 17-13 to improve to 5-6 for the season. Syracuse needs to beat Massachusetts and Colgate in its final two games to remain in contention for a NCAA berth.
US Lacrosse and CSTV are in the fourth year of a partnership to help bring college lacrosse broadcasts to fans around the nation. CSTV has a 24-game package for this season, including telecasts of the NCAA Division I, II and III women's championships and the NCAA Division II and III men's championships. CSTV will also telecast the US Lacrosse Women's Division Intercollegiate Associates National Championship.
CSTV has three games on its schedule this weekend. On Saturday, CSTV will broadcast the Yale-Harvard game from Harvard Stadium at 1 p.m. On Sunday, CSTV airs the Patriot League men's championship game at 12 noon and follows with the inaugural women's Big East championship at 2:30 p.m.
