Slide Package: Week 12
Who will rise to the top in 2008? The ascension has already begun.
Lacrosse Magazine Online's "Slide Package," starts with a usurping of high school girls' lacrosse powers and ends with the restoration of a Division I men's lacrosse juggernaut. In between, Cornell deals Hobart a bittersweet loss, the MCLA playoff race heats up out west and North Carolina shows no shortage of high school boys' lacrosse action.
More on this week's "Slide Package:"
HSG: Mount Hebron (Md.) at Moorestown (N.J.)
In what has become a yearly series between two hotbeds of high school girls' lacrosse, Moorestown finally broke through by using a four-goal rally and Alyssa Ogle's game-winning goal with 11.9 seconds left to hand Mount Hebron a 9-8 defeat. (Photos by Kevin Tucker)
MD1: Cornell at Hobart
In a week that could only be described as trying, the Statesmen played their first night game at Boswell Field and came up on the losing end of a 15-7 defeat at the hands of the Big Red. Ultimately, Hobart's players, coaches and fans were winners when it was announced the school would stay the course and remain Division I. (Photos by Greg Wall)
MCLA: WCLL Semifinals
The WCLL Division I semis were played in San Diego, Calif., featuring Arizona State, Chico State, Chapman and Sonoma State. ASU would down Chico, 11-8, while Chapman would outlast SSU, 12-10. Chapman would punch its ticket to Dallas and the MCLA championships with a 17-9 win over ASU in the final. (Photos by Dirk Dewachter).
