Davenport: Clarkson Announces Recruiting Class

Grand Rapids, Mich. - Davenport is beginnings its second year of Men's Lacrosse with a bang. Coach Clarkson is bringing in 14 recruits that should strengthen its offense and bring depth to the team. Five of these recruits were captains of their high school teams and three are transfers from other schools.Additionally, three recruits are from Ontario Canada bringing the total Canadian players to six. Playing time will now be a premium and everyone needs to work as hard as possible for playing time said Clarkson.
Gregory (Dlyan) Gilbert: Dylan comes to Davenport from the box leagues of Ontario Canada (Oakville Buzz) where he was one of his team's leaders in goals and assists. Gilbert is a big strong kid who can penetrate defenses and brings a great shot from inside. Coach Clarkson is very high on Gilbert and expects him to make an immediate impact for the Panthers.
Corbin Ralston: Corbin is a local kid from lacrosse powerhouse East Grand Rapids. Corbin was a starting attackman for the EGR state champion lacrosse team where he was a 3 year letter winner. Corbin is a goal scorer and is strong from both the left and right hands said Clarkson. He has very good feet, a good stick and will be a scoring threat.
Taylor Keyworth: Taylor is a big coachable player from state finalist Forest Hills Central. While he was a starting attackman for FHC he is expected to play midfield for the Panthers. Taylor also was a standout hockey player earning conference honors for both hockey and lacrosse.
Chris Payne: Chris also comes to us from Forest Hills Central where he teamed with Keyworth as a starting attackman. Chris is a shifty attacker who is strong from both hands. Chris was a second team all state for FHC. Clarkson believes that Chris will be a significant contributor to the Panther offense in the coming years.
Chris Kendro: Chris comes to us from Spring Lake where he was a standout Hockey player and an all state qualifier in track. Chris' speed and athleticism will fit in well on our team said Clarkson. Kendro also was awarded a Lettinga Charter Scholarship for exceptional academic achievement in high school.
Jordan Costa: Jordan is another Canadian product hailing from Mississauga Ontario. Jordan is a big strong player who will see time at midfield. Jordan played both box and field lacrosse as well as being a impressive hockey player.
Mike Kaye: Mike comes to us from Hartland Michigan where he started at attack. Mike was a three year letter winner, two year captain and 2 year all county award winner. In addition, Kaye led his team in assists. Coach Clarkson is excited to bring his leadership to the Panther squad.
Aaron James: Aaron is a Rockford High School product where he earned all conference and all state honors. Aaron was a three year letter winner and a two year starter for the Rams. He is coming to Davenport from Grand Rapids Community College. While he has not played competitive lacrosse for two years, Coach Clarkson believes he will come back strong and be a team leader.
Jordan Richtsmeier: Jordan is a transfer from Tri State University (Forest Hills Central). While at FHC Jordan earned All Conference and First Team All State honors. He also served as a captain for the Rangers. Coach Clarkson is expecting Jordan to contribute significantly to the Panther offense.
Zach Higgins: Zach hails from Courtice Ontario where he played the hockey, box lacrosse and field lacrosse goalie position. Zach is a big kid that can clear the ball well. Zach was an all Ontario Lacrosse Association All Star. Coach Clarkson will depend on Zach to split time with Jake Stricker for the upcoming season.
Jordy Sayers: Jordy is transferring from Saginaw Valley State University (Davidson High School) where he led the team in Goals, assists and points. While at Davidson, Jordy was a three time letter winner for the Cardinals. Sayers will be a premier midfielder in the MCLA says Clarkson.
Steve Chiappelli: Steve is another Hartland graduate. He was name All Conference, All County, and also served as his team's captain. Chiappelli was a prolific scorer for the Eagles and Coach Clarkson thinks that Steve will bring that scoring prowess to the Panther offense.
Kyle Anguilm: Kyle is from Ypsilanti - Lincoln where he was a 3 year letter winner and 2 year captain. Kyle also played varsity soccer and varsity golf. He is also the 2nd all time leading scorer for his high school with 197 career points. Kyle is a standout player and individual and we look forward to his contribution to the team says Clarkson.
Jordan Steger: Jordan is our only true hometown player as he hails from Caledonia Michigan. Jordan was a three year starter for the Fighting Scotts. He also is a standout hockey player. Steger is a hard worker and a very coachable kid says Clarkson, we expect him to contribute significantly to our Panther midfield.
