TORONTO — Cody Jamieson was unstoppable and Matt Vinc was impenetrable Thursday, as the Rochester Knighthawks spoiled the Toronto Rock's home opener with a 12-7 victory at Air Canada Centre.

Jamieson factored in 10 of the Knighthawks' 12 goals with three goals and seven assists. Vinc saved 40 of 47 shots.

Rochester jumped out to a 7-2 lead at halftime, outshooting Toronto 30-18 in the first half, and stretched the lead to six on Jamieson's powerplay goal that made it 9-3 with 9:39 left in the third quarter.

The Rock did not score an even-strength goal until midway through the third quarter, when Stephan Leblanc ignited a 4-1 run. A shorthanded goal by Brett Hickey, his third of the game, 55 seconds into the third quarter pulled Toronto within three at 10-7.

But Jamieson put the game out of reach with two goals three minutes apart.

Rochester, which saw a fourth-quarter lead against Colorado evaporate in its season opener, evened its record at 1-1. Toronto fell to 0-2 and has managed just 14 goals in its two games.
