Rochester Downs Calgary in 15-14 Thriller

The Rochester Knighthawks (7-7) improved their playoff chances by holding on for a 15-14 road win over the Calgary Roughnecks (8-7) before a season-high crowd of 12,340 at Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday night.
Neither team led by more than two goals in the tightly-contested game that wasn't decided until the final whistle as the Roughnecks had the chance to tie the game late in regulation after pulling within a goal with 18 seconds left.
Dan Dawson led the way for the Knighthawks with a game-high 11 points (3+8), Cody Jamieson added nine points (3+6), Mike Accursi (2+3) and Johnny Powless (2+3) both had five points while goalie Matt Vinc made 44 saves on 58 shots.
Roughnecks forward Shawn Evans moved into the NLL scoring lead with a team-high 10 points (3+7) for a total of 102 points (31+71) on the season. Curtis Dickson had seven points (2+5), Jeff Shattler had six points (4+2) and goalie Mike Poulin had 33 saves on 48 shots in the losing effort.
