Buffalo Clinches Home Playoff Game

BUFFALO - The Buffalo Bandits defeated the
Rochester Knighthawks 13-9 on Friday night in front of 17,118 fans
at HSBC Arena. Buffalo improves to 10-4, and clinches at least a
second place finish in the East Division. This means the Bandits
will host a Divisional Semifinal Playoff Game on the weekend of May
1st. The Bandits can clinch the East Division with a win on
Saturday against the New York Titans.
Rochester falls to 6-8, and back into a tie with Philadelphia for
fourth place. The Knighthawks continue their weekend on Saturday
when they face the Boston Blazers in Boston.
Buffalo led 8-7 entering the fourth quarter, and then outscored
Rochester 5-2 in the final frame. Mike Accursi and Roger Vyse
eached had three goals and an assist for the Bandits. Ken Montour
made 52 saves on 61 shots faced in the Buffalo net.
Rochester was led by Shawn Williams, who had two goals and two
assists. Pat O'Toole made 32 saves on 44 shots faced.
