Rochester Rattlers 13, Long Island Lizards 8
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Goalkeeper John Galloway made a career-high 21 saves, including nine in the third quarter, as the Rochester Rattlers earned a 13-8 Major League Lacrosse victory over the Long Island Lizards in the front game of a home-and-home series at Sahlen's Stadium on Friday evening.
Galloway, who was named as the Bud Light Player of the Game for the second time in his MLL career, led a Rochester defense that matched a season low by allowing just eight points while ending the Lizards' five-game win streak... [FULL STORY]
Charlotte Hounds 13, Chesapeake Bayhawks 12
CHARLOTTE – Attackman Matt Danowski totaled six points, including four in the final three minutes, while goalie Adam Ghitelman recorded 20 saves as the expansion Charlotte Hounds stunned the Major League Lacrosse-leading Chesapeake Bayhawks, 13-12, much to the delight of a raucous crowd at American Legion Memorial Stadium.
Goalie Kip Turner registered 17 saves in a losing effort for Chesapeake, which had a five-game winning streak snapped. Boston Cannons 15, Hamilton Nationals 13
HAMILTON, Ontario - The Boston Cannons improved to 6-3 with a 15-13 win over the Hamilton Nationals (2-6) on Saturday. Ari Sussman was named Bud Light Player of the Game for his career-high five goals and one assist to lead the Cannons offense with six points. Ryan Boyle (two goals, three assists), Kevin Buchanan (2g, 3a) and Paul Rabil (1g, 4a) all contributed five points in the win.
Cannons goalie Jordan Burke finished with 18 saves to lead the Cannons defense. Burke leads all MLL goalies with a 9.95 goals against average and .578 save percentage... [FULL STORY]
Rochester Rattlers 17, Long Island Lizards 15
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Midfielder Steven Boyle scored three goals and added two assists as the Rochester Rattlers earned their second win in two days with a 17-15 Major League Lacrosse victory over the Long Island Lizards at James M. Shuart Stadium on Saturday evening. The win marked the Rattlers' second victory in a 24-hour span as Rochester edged Long Island by 13-8 on Friday night.
Stephen Peyser led Long Island with three goals, including a pair of two-point markers, while Tommy Palasek and rookie attackman Matt Gibson contributed two goals and an assist each... [FULL STORY]
