MLL: Cannons Blast Bayhawks, Stay Tied for First
from press release
The Boston Cannons scored the first nine points of the game and never looked back en route to a 16-10 win over the Chesapeake Bayawks.
The win improved the Cannons to 6-3 on the season and kept them in a first-place tie with Denver heading into the MLL bye week.
Paul Rabil led the way for the Cannons with five points on the night. Rabil scored the first two goals of the game and then, following a Brad Ross tally, the 2009 MLL MVP registered a two-point goal, giving the Cannons a 5-0 lead just six minutes into the game.
Matt Poskay added three goals for Boston, while Max Quinzani and Kevin Buchanan each registered two goals and an assist in the win.
Kyle Dixon led the Bayhawks with three points on two goals, one of them a 2-pointer. The loss dropped Chesapeake to 4-5 on the season, its first time under .500 this year.
