LacrosseRecruits.com says:
"We had the opportunity to see Russell play at a few events last
summer and in a ton of video. He has a big athletic frame at 6'3"
and 185 pounds. For a junior defenseman, his speed, footwork and
lacrosse IQ is very impressive. His understanding of defensive
packages and when to push the ball shows maturity and is an example
of how far the game has come in Tennessee. He is an Ivy league
coach's dream: very strong academics and a motivated leader on the
lacrosse field. He fits in very well with Coach Tambroni's
defensive schemes and team-first coaching style."

Russell Scott
says:
“The recruiting process was one of the hardest, but most
exciting things I have ever done. One thing I learned is that there
is a very strong focus on academics. Being from the South, I got
really lucky to be invited to camps such as Jake Reed’s Nike
Blue Chip Rising Junior and Peak 200. I have played on Team
Tennessee the past two summers and went to camps such as Gait Cup,
Champ Camp, Southern Combat and MVP Rutgers. Besides being great
exposure, Team Tennessee was a good opportunity to get to know
really good players at other schools from around the state, some of
whom have become good friends. There have been plenty of great
prospects from Tennessee, but they just don’t get the
exposure they should. Hopefully my commitment will help all future
southern prospects’ chances.”
Next stop on the recruiting
trail: Tournaments with Team Tennessee at Rutgers MVP,
Gait Cup at Gettysburg.
