CheckHers 2012 Earns Top Seed

BEL AIR, Md. – CheckHers 2012 (Md.)
earned the top seed after girls’ pool play at the inaugural
US Lacrosse U-15 National Championship, presented by Modell’s
Sporting Goods. CheckHers 2012 allowed just 10 goals in its three
victories, beating Greater Houston 13-3, Ohio Chapter 15-4 and
Synergy Lacrosse (Mass.) 20-3.
The event, featuring 30 girls’ teams, is being held at Cedar
Lane Sports Park and the girls portion of the event runs through
Wednesday, July 8 with the championship game slated for 2 p.m. The
32-team boys’ field begins play on Wednesday, July 8 and that
championship will be held on Friday, July 10.
CheckHers was one of six Maryland teams to advance to the 16-team
championship bracket. Also advancing were TLC 2013 (No. 3 seed),
CheckHers 2013 (No. 6 seed), Top of the Bay (No. 9 seed), Team
Integrity (No. 13 seed) and Greene Turtle Lacrosse Club (No. 16
seed).
One of the more intriguing opening round games in the championship
bracket will feature the No. 8 seed Long Island Yellow Jackets
against the No. 9 seed Top of the Bay. The two teams tied for the
top seed in Pool B and tied their pool play game 10-10.
The first round games in the championship bracket begin at 10 a.m.
on Tuesday and the winners will advance to afternoon quarterfinal
games.
