Calvert Hall (Md.) made a big jump in the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine National High School Boys' Top 25 this week to become the third team in three weeks to hold the No. 1 spot. J.T. Bugliosi had a key hand in that.

Bugliosi, a junior attackman who has committed to Ohio State, scored the game-winner 55 seconds into overtime to lift the then-No. 14 Cardinals to a 7-6 victory over then-No. 5 Malvern Prep (Pa.). He finished with a game-high three goals.

Bugliosi is one of the top returners from Calvert Hall's 2015 squad that finished 12-6. The Cardinals improved to 6-1, their lone loss coming to the Canadian powerhouse Hill Academy, with a 19-3 blowout of Half Hollow Hills West (N.Y.) at Rutgers on Tuesday.

Northeast Player of the Week

Connor DeSimone, Smithtown East (N.Y.)

The junior midfielder led the Bulls to a thrilling 17-16 win over Massapequa (N.Y.) on Saturday, scoring a team-high four goals and setting up the game-winner for Dan Rooney. DeSimone is committed to Johns Hopkins.

Also notable: TD Ierlan, Victor (N.Y.); Mac O'Keefe, Syosset (N.Y.); Jack Zullo, Chaminade (N.Y.)

Mid-Atlantic Player of the Week

J.T. Bugliosi, Calvert Hall (Md.)

Bugliosi committed to Ohio State as a freshman in December 2013 and was the Buckeyes' first commitment from the Class of 2017. "I knew that I wanted to be a Buckeye as soon as I visited," he told TopLaxRecruits.com.

Also notable: Kyle Anderson, Malvern Prep (Pa.); Billy Cole, Malvern Prep (Pa.); Chris Weston, Cave Spring (Va.)

South Player of the Week

Grant Plaugher, Lambert (Ga.)

The junior attackman tallied five goals in an 11-6 win over Centennial on Friday in a key Area 3-6A matchup between the state's top two-ranked teams. Lambert had lost 13-10 to the Knights last year for their only area loss – a game that sent the Longhorns on the road for their first-round playoff game, which they lost in overtime at Pope (Ga.).

Also notable: Jackson Durham, Highland Park (Texas); Reese Ellison, Dallas Jesuit (Texas); Austin Farwell, Lake Highland Prep (Fla.); Nakeie Montgomery, Episcopal Dallas (Texas); Jack Morelock, Providence (N.C.); Joe Venazio, Carolina Forest (S.C.)

Midwest Player of the Week

Jake Leitch, Carmel (Ind.)

The senior midfielder and Cleveland State commit does a lot of his best work outside of the score sheet. "He's a groundball machine," Carmel coach Tom Coons said. Still, he played a part in both goals Carmel (Ind.) scored against Culver (Ind.), notched two goals and two assists in a one-score victory over New Trier (Ill.) and recorded a hat trick in a win against Zionsville (Ind.). He has 15 points, seven assists and 60 ground balls – in just seven games. "He's a lunch pail type of kid," Coons said.

Also notable: Brennan Kamish, Zionsville (Ind.); Rocco Mularoni, Zionsville (Ind.)

Sophomore faceoff specialist Spencer Grant fueled Torrey Pines' 8-4 win over San Diego area rival Poway.

West Player of the Week

Spencer Grant, Torrey Pines (Calif.)

The sophomore faceoff specialist helped the Falcons control possession in the second half, as they broke a 2-2 tie with six straight goals coming out of halftime to beat defending CIF San Diego Open champion Poway 8-4 last week. Grant won eight of nine faceoffs in the second half and also added one goal and one assist for the game. The Michigan commit won the 2015 FaceOff Academy National Championship in December and is considered San Diego's top faceoff prospect.

Also notable: Jordan Greenhall, Corona del Mar (Calif.); Asher Nolting, Cherry Creek (Colo.); Jonny Osman, Mercer Island (Wash.); Joe Piombo, Monte Vista-Danville (Calif.)
