PORTLAND, Ore. — Rhino Lacrosse announced today that registration is open for the company's first hosted tournament, The Saratoga Springs Lacrosse Shootout. The event will take place July 5-7, 2013, at the Saratoga Polo Club in Saratoga Springs, New York. The Saratoga Springs Lacrosse Shootout includes Men's Open and Master's divisions along with boys' competition in U9, U11, U13, U15 as well as high school A (varsity) and B (JV) divisions. Company founder Ryan Powell will serve as the tournament director for this inaugural event.

"I envisioned creating an event that is more than just another tournament for teams to arrive, compete and leave," said Powell. "The Saratoga Springs Lacrosse Shootout is a lacrosse festival... a place where teams, players and their families can enjoy the perfect combination of fun and competition in an unmatched atmosphere."

The Saratoga Springs Lacrosse Shootout kicks off with opening ceremonies on Friday night, July 5 th, along with Powell Hour, where the Powell Brothers will be on hand doing demonstrations. Throughout the weekend there will be plenty of off-field fun including professional player demonstrations, player and coaching clinics directed by college coaches, 3v3 mini tournament, players club, parents lounge, Rip's Grill, vendor village, live music and more.

The company will also host the first annual Rhino Lacrosse Golf Classic at Saratoga Spa Club on Friday, July 5th, for adults 18 and over. Each year, a worthy cause will be chosen to receive proceeds from the golf tournament. In 2013, proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit organization founded in 2003 with a mission to honor and empower wounded warriors who incur service-related wounds, injuries and illnesses (physical or psychological) on or after September 11, 2001.
