IMLCA Condemns Recruiting Before Ninth Grade

from LaxMagazine.com staff reports | Twitter

The Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) issued a brief statement on Wednesday morning, seeking to clarify the association's position on recruiting.

It stated: "The IMLCA does not support recruiting of boys who have not yet entered ninth grade. If a coach is present at an event and not on the tournament staff or on the field instructing, then he must be there to recruit. The Association does not condone this action.

"Coaches should ask themselves, is it right to recruit boys who [have] not yet entered ninth grade?

"We ask all coaches to support the IMLCA's mission to uphold the highest ethical standards and to maintain the integrity of the game that we are responsible for protecting."
