USL Accepting Applications for Breschi Scholarship
from press release | Breschi Scholarship Application (PDF)
US Lacrosse is proud to announce that applications for the 2010 Michael Breschi Scholarship are now being accepted.
The scholarship is awarded to two graduating high school seniors
(who are the son or daughter of a coach) who has plans to attend
college. The parent or guardian can be either a male or female
coach in high school or college, and should be a full-time employee
of an educational institution.
The Michael Breschi Scholarship was established in 2007 to honor
the life of Michael Breschi, son of Joe Breschi, head men’s
lacrosse coach at University of North Carolina. The scholarship was
established to preserve Michael’s memory and pass on the
steadfast support of the lacrosse community. It is the hopes
of Coach Breschi’s fellow coaches, that in awarding this
scholarship to the child of another lacrosse coach, they might
continue to show their forever support and care to the Breschi
family.
The scholarship winner is responsible for checking with the
college or university to verify that his/her acceptance of this
scholarship meets all institutional regulations, particularly with
regard to financial aid packages. If the recipient is a
scholarship-athlete, the scholarship must meet all NCAA regulations
as they pertain to that institution and the student-athlete.
Please pass this scholarship information along to senior players
who might be interested in applying for the 2010 Michael Breschi
Scholarship.
The deadline for applications is July 1, 2010.
