Defending boys’ champion Fellowship of Christian Athletes
(Md.) and last year’s girls’ runner-up Stars Gold (Va.)
headline the fields in the second annual US Lacrosse U-15 National
Championships. This year’s event will be held at the ESPN
Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., from July
17-22, 2010 and will be a part of the ESPN RISE Games, presented by
Target.
Limited spots are still available for teams that are interested in
competing in the championships. Each team is guaranteed four games
and players will have access to Disney’s theme parks in
addition to great on-field competition. For more details about
signing up a team and the event, please visit the US Lacrosse Web
site.
The girls’ championship runs from July 17-20 and as of now
has teams from 12 states competing for the title. Among the teams
coming back are Stars Gold (Va.), which fell in last year’s
championship game, and Relentless Hustle (N.Y.), which reached the
semifinals.
The boys’ championship runs from July 19-22 and the
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (Md.) will back to defend its
crown. All four semifinalists from last year’s championship
are returning with For Love of the Game (N.Y.), New England Select
Lacrosse League (Mass.) and Next Level Lacrosse (Md.) joining FCA.
Teams from 16 states are included in the field.
Both winner’s of the Sportsmanship Award presented at last
year’s championship are also back in the fields. Nor Cal
(Calif.) won the girls’ award last year and Greene Turtle
Lacrosse Club (Md.) won the boys’ award last year. Last
year’s inaugural US Lacrosse U-15 National Championship was
held at Cedar Lane Regional Park outside of Baltimore in Bel Air,
Md.
US Lacrosse will also be conducting its boys’ and
girls’ High School Showcase events at the ESPN complex during
this time period. The High School Showcase will feature the top
high school seniors competing
