Midwest Team Selected for Adidas Lacrosse Classic
from press release
Over 100 high school lacrosse players from Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan participated in the adidas Midwest regional underclassmen team tryout held at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
The top 25 players were selected to represent the Midwest Region in the 2010 adidas National Lacrosse Classic and named as adidas High School All-Americans by a committee of high school lacrosse coaches after a three hour evaluation process. Registration for the evaluation was open to all high school underclassmen players entering grades 10, 11 and 12 next fall.
Seven schools ranked in Ohio’s top 20 will be represented by selected players. Upper Arlington and Western Reserve Academy, ranked Nos. 2 and 3 in the state, respectively, have six players on the team roster.
The 2010 adidas Midwest has players from five states and will be
coached by Matt Wilson, head coach at Western Reserve Academy and
Bill Taylor, head coach at St. Charles Prep. This will be
Coach Taylor’s third coaching appearance at the adidas
National Games.
The 2010 adidas National Lacrosse Classic will be played in
Germantown, Md., July 5-8, 2010. The event features the top 500
high school underclassmen players on 20 regional teams competing
for a National Championship in a showcase for NCAA and MCLA
lacrosse coaches.
The winning team qualifies to play internationally for the
Brogden Cup in Orlando, Fla. later in the year.
