Registration Open for World Lacrosse Festivals
from press release
BALTIMORE — Team registration for the
youth and master’s festivals to be held in conjunction with
the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse Men’s World
Championship is now open at www.worldlacrosse2014.com. The FIL World
Championship, which will feature a record 40 nations, takes place
from July 10-19, 2014, at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in
Denver. US Lacrosse will coordinate both the world championship and
the festivals.
The festivals includes a dozen divisions for boys’ and
men’s teams, beginning at the U11 level and running up
through an over 60 division. Teams from around the world are
expected to participate in the various divisions, and all festival
packages will include tickets to the FIL World Championship, which
is being held in the United States for the first time since
1998.
“This will be a wonderful opportunity for lacrosse players
of all ages to compete against teams from around the world while
soaking in the unique experience of the world championship,”
said Beth Porreca, director of special events at US Lacrosse.
All games in the festivals will be played on the well-manicured
fields at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. In addition to an
18,000-seat stadium, which will host the marquee games of the FIL
World Championship, the park includes 24 surrounding fields which
will be used for both the world championship and the festivals.
