Fall Ball Weekend Preview: Coast-to-Coast Action

After a busy weekend of tournaments and play days one week ago, the fall season continues with another packed slate from sea to shining sea, as you'll see.
Saturday, Oct. 13
MEN
Navy at Notre Dame, 11 a.m.
Rick Sowell brings Navy to South Bend for a scrimmage on a busy
Notre Dame-Stanford football game weekend. It's Notre Dame's final
fall ball event after playing Detroit and Bellarmine at Hales
Franciscan High in Chicago last Saturday.
Villanova at Loyola, 1 p.m.
Baltimore area fans get a chance to see the defending national
champion Greyhounds in action.
Maryland vs. Denver, 2 p.m. —
Seatown Classic
The first meeting between Division I teams in Washington State
pits the 2012 national runner-up Terrapins against fellow NCAA
tournament team Denver. The US Lacrosse Washington Chapter has
organized the event. Read an in-depth preview here

father of Washington-native and former Maryland midfielder Drew
Snider.
Iroquois vs. Team USA, 8 p.m. —
Bowhunter Cup
The third annual Bowhunter Cup, an international indoor exhibition
game, between the Iroquois Nationals and Team USA will take place at Blue
Cross Arena, home of the National Lacrosse League's Rochester
Knighthawks. The teams have split the first two Bowhunter Cup
games, although the Iroquois are 4-1 all-time against the U.S.
indoor competition.
WOMEN
Navy Invitational, 8:30 a.m.
Navy hosts the largest-scale event on the weekend docket with 29
games on four different fields over the course of eight hours.
Syracuse, North Carolina, James Madison, Denver, Ohio State,
Stanford, Towson, Harvard, George Washington, Louisville, LaSalle,
Bucknell, Robert Morris will all play. Here's the full

Johns Hopkins Tournament, 9 a.m.
The Blue Jays host Georgetown, Lehigh and Temple. Six games
total.
Columbia Play Day, 9:30 a.m.
It's truly a full day of lacrosse in the heart of New York City as
this event runs until 7 p.m. Participating: Hofstra, Stony Brook,
USC, Iona, LIU-Post, Wagner, Columbia and New York Athletic
Club.
Sunday, Oct. 14
MEN
North Carolina vs. Ohio State, 10 a.m. —
MRB "Thumbs Up" Weekend
Proceeds from this game benefit the MRB Scholarship Fund. The Michael
R. Breschi Memorial Scholarship is one of the largest memorial
endowed scholarships in the Ohio State athletics department, and
was created in memory of Michael Breschi, the son of former Ohio
State lacrosse coach and current North Carolina coach Joe Breschi
and his wife, Julie. Michael passed away tragically in March 2004
when he was just three years old. The Michael Robert Breschi
Scholarship is given to a senior lacrosse player every year that
best exemplifies the spirit of Michael. Additionally, US Lacrosse annually names two high
school recipients of its annual Michael Breschi Scholarship. These
winners are the son or daughter of a coach.
Army Play Day, 11 a.m.
A trio of top 20 contenders — Army, St. John's and Harvard
— meet in West Point.
Christian Prince Memorial at Yale, 1:30
p.m.
2012 Tewaaraton Award finalist Will Manny and the Minutemen travel
to Yale for a fall day with Rutgers.
WOMEN
Georgetown Play Day, 9 a.m.
Stanford, Ohio State and Virginia travel to Washington. Six games
total.
North Carolina at Loyola, 9:30 a.m.
A pair of returning NCAA tournament teams meet.
Princeton Fall Invitational, 10 a.m.
Princeton hosts Albany, Penn and Boston College.
USC at Rutgers
First-year program USC, led by Team USA captain Lindsay Munday,
makes an East Coast swing, playing in Saturday's play day at
Columbia in New York City, before traveling to New Jersey for a
scrimmage with Rutgers on Sunday.
