No. 5 New Jersey Dominates Cabrini, 19-1
from press release
RADNOR, Pa. - The College of New Jersey women’s
lacrosse team turned in another dominating performance as the Lions
cruised to a 19-1 victory at Cabrini College extending their
season-opening win streak to three games.
The Lions never trailed and led 15-0 at the half before the
Cavaliers scored the game’s final goal with just less than
six minutes remaining. TCNJ controlled the ball for most of the
game thanks to an 18-3 advantage in draw controls.
Junior Ali Jaeger (Hampton, NJ/North Hunterdon) continued her
torrid scoring pace as she finished with six goals and three
assists for nine points. In just three games this season, Jaeger
has scorched the opposition for 21 goals and 30 points.
Jaeger wasn’t alone in the scoring barrage as senior Lisa
Seldeen (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley), senior Robin Deehan (Morris
Plains, NJ/Academy of St. Elizabeth), and freshman Jillian Nealon
(Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) all recorded hat tricks.
Sophomore Kathleen Notos (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) added a
pair of goals to the win, while sophomore Leigh Mitchell (Mt.
Laurel, NJ/Lenape) scored once and set up four others. Sophomore
Sara Keating (Upper Montclair, NJ/Montclair) also had a
multiple-point game with a goal and two assists.
TCNJ goalie Mary Waller (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright) had a quiet
game making four saves on five shots.
The Lions remain on the road on Saturday, March 20 heading to Drew
University to face the Rangers in a 1 p.m. start.
