Mar 16, 2010 Salisbury's Raab Earns CAC Weekly Nod
from press release
YORK, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its
weekly Player of the Week awards and Salisbury University freshman
midfielder Roxanne Raab (Fallston, Md.) was named the women's
lacrosse recipient for the week of March 15. This marks the first
time a member of the SU women’s lacrosse team has received
the distinction this season.
Raab led the No. 2-ranked Sea Gulls (7-0, 2-0 Capital Athletic
Conference) to a pair of victories for the week. The Fallston, Md.,
native scored two goals and caused three turnovers in
Salisbury’s win over CAC member York (Pa.) College on Friday.
In addition the freshman scooped up one ground ball and won
one draw control.
Raab followed that up with the best performance of her young career
in the victory against Roanoke College on Sunday. Raab set new
career-highs in both points (five) and goals (four); in addition
she dished out one assist, caused one turnover, scooped up one
ground ball and won one draw control. For the season she has 13
points on 11 goals and two assists.
The Sea Gulls are set to hit the road for a non-conference contest
with Virginia Wesleyan College scheduled for Tuesday at 1 p.m. The
game was originally scheduled for March 3 but was postponed due to
an unplayable field surface.
