W&L's Mathews Garners ODAC Honors

SALEM, Va.
– Washington and Lee junior midfielder Emmy Mathews (Baltimore Md./Bryn Mawr) garnered the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week award for women's lacrosse for the week ending March 14.

Mathews helped lead the 16th-ranked Generals to a 2-0 week. She tallied a hat trick in a 21-1 victory over Sweet Briar on Tuesday before notching a game-high four goals and two assists in a 16-10 triumph over 17th-ranked Mary Washington on Saturday. On the season, Mathews ranks third on the team with 14 points (9g, 5a).

A First Team All-ODAC and First Team All-Chesapeake Region selection last season, Mathews is just four points away from recording her 100th career point (79 G, 17 A).

W&L is currently 4-2 on the season, including a 2-0 mark in the ODAC. The Generals will return to action on Wednesday as they host 15th-ranked Cortland State for a 4:30 pm contest.
