Zegowitz Named CAC Player of Week

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - After totaling 10 points and seven
goals in victories over York (Pa.) and Ursinus last week, Stevenson
women's lacrosse senior Lauren Zegowitz (Gaithersburg/Damascus) was
named CAC Player of the Week on Monday, marking her second career
weekly honor.
Zegowitz was also honored by the conference on Apr. 21, 2008 after
totaling 12 goals and five assists in three victories, including a
13-11 vicory over York (Pa.) in the first round of the CAC Women's
Lacrosse Championship.
On Wednesday, Zegowitz totaled three goals and an assist as the
Mustangs scored six of the game's final seven goals to erase a
two-goal deficit with under 15 minutes remaining in a 14-11 CAC
road win at York (Pa.). It was also the 100th career victory for
head coach Kathy Railey.
Zegowitz then added four goals and two assists in Saturday's 16-11
win over Ursinus. With six points, she moved past Laura Higgs for
second on the school's career points list with 168. She is also
second in career goals with 120 and trails Heather Valunas'
all-time records by 18 points and 31 goals.
