WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 11, 2014) – A career day by Mary Stufano as well as Kelly Thayer's best performance of the year led No. 8 Rollins (4-1) past No. 7 Stonehill (0-1) on Tuesday night, by a final score of 14-9. Amy Martin, Angelica Perdomo, andTyler Thomas all pitched in with two goals while Caroline Lamereadded five assists to extend her team high total to nine.

Mikayla Couch led the Skyhawks with three scores with six others added one goal each.

Coming into the evening leading the nation in saves, senior co-captain Elyse De Lisle played all 60 minutes in the Tars goal, collecting seven saves.

Stufano opened the scoring, giving Rollins the early 1-0 lead five minutes into the game before Stonehill answered back with a pair of scores, including Couch's first of the night, to take their first lead at 2-1 with 21:16 left in the first half.

The Tars fired back with a pair before the Skyhawks rattled off three unanswered to take their biggest lead of the night at 5-3 with 9:58 left in the half.

Rollins then answered with goals by Martin, Perdomo, and Ty. Thomas to regain the lead at 6-5 heading into the break.

Both teams would trade a pair of goals over the first 15 minutes of the second, including a controversial score by Couch that seemed to have come after a timeout horn had blown, to cut the Rollins lead to 8-7 with 25:32 left to play.

Thayer then took over the game, accounting for three Rollins goals in a span of less than five minutes, swinging momentum in in the Tars favor and extending the lead to 11-8 with 10:42 left to play.

The surge from Thayer all but ended it as Rollins would outscore Stonehill, 3-1, over the final 8:50 to secure the victory.

The Tars will take a short break before hosting Bentley on Friday, March 14th at 4 p.m. Fans that can't make it to the game can watch live on the TSN on RollinsSports.com
