No. 7 West Chester Locks up PSAC Second Seed

EDINBORO, Pa. – Haley Nelson scored four goals, and Jamie Dolan finished with six points while Tori Dugan notched five as seventh-ranked West Chester University ended its regular-season with a 19-5 road win at Edinboro Saturday afternoon.
West Chester (13-4, 10-1 PSAC) finishes the season in second place in the PSAC Standings and will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament. Edinboro ends its season at 7-10 overall and 2-9 in the PSAC.
The Golden Rams led, 6-3, with nine minutes left in the first half when the visitors scored nine unanswered goals to break open a close game. Nelson netted three of those nine to fuel the run. Dugan and Dolan each scored once and assisted on two others during that spurt as well.
When Edinboro ended the run with a tally at the 14:48 mark of the second half, West Chester ran off three more goals to keep the pressure on the hosts.
Dolan finished with three goals and three assists while Dugan had three goals and two assists. Hannah Cowan and Erin Eckert each tallied twice as well. Lauren Glassey, Jordan Heidelbaugh, Brittany Long, Nicole Pyle and Sarah Dennison each scored as well. Heidelbaugh finished with three points. Pyle also tacked on an assist to her totals.
Jess Henderson (12-4) played 54 minutes and made six saves. Kelsey Sward came on and played the final six minutes.
West Chester outshot Edinboro, 40-13.
The Golden Rams receive a bye into the conference semifinals as a result of their second seed. Lock Haven, the regular-season champion, is the top seed and will host the semifinals on Friday and Saturday, May 3-4. West Chester will play in one of the semifinal games on Friday, May 3.
