No. 7 Le Moyne Routs St. Mike's; Adelphi up Next

from staff reports

SYRACUSE, N.Y.- In its final test before Adelphi comes to down, No. 7 Le Moyne rolled past St. Michael's, 16-2, on Saturday for its seventh win in a row. A home tilt against No. 4 Adelphi, the reigning Northeast-10 champion, looms on Wednesday.

Kelly Condon led Le Moyne (9-2, 7-1 NE-10) with five goals and one assist against St. Michael’s and Kathleen Conese chipped in three goals and one assist. Molly Marbut made five saves and allowed just one goal before being relieved for Ryan Cortese, late in the second half.

Casey Curtin made 12 saves for St. Michael’s (5-7, 3-6 NE-10), which was outshot 37-11. St. Michael’s turned the ball over 37 times to Le Moyne’s 16. Le Moyne won the ground ball battle, 27-17.

The Dolphins now ready themselves for a huge showdown with Adelphi, which they defeated, 11-10, last year in the regular season and lost to, 13-12, in the NE-10 championship game. Adelphi has not lost yet this season. Le Moyne has not lost since dropping back-to-back games against Pfeiffer and Bentley in mid-March.
