Sileo (11 Points) and Olen (9 Points) Lead LIU Post over Southern New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Defending NCAA Division II national champion and top-ranked LIU Post cruised to a 23-8 non-conference women's lacrosse victory over Southern New Hampshire University Saturday afternoon at Larkin Field. The Pioneers upped their record to 3-0, while the Penmen are 0-3 on the season.
Ashley Olen led LIU Post with six goals and three assists, while Abbie Ross and Katie Rotan each finished with five goals. Jackie Sileo added three goals and eight assists on the afternoon.
Southern New Hampshire was led by Ellie Morin's (Scarborough, Maine) five goals, while Lindsay Bucknam (Bow, N.H.) notched a pair of goals. Kayleigh Dube (Bourne, Mass.) finished with a goal and an assist for the Penmen.
The hosts jumped out to a 2-0 lead as Morin scored 43 seconds into the game, followed by a Bucknam goal 1:13 into the contest. LIU Post reeled off the next seven goals to build a 7-2 lead at the 20:19 mark before Morin scored at 17:43 to make it 8-3. The Pioneers scored eight of the final nine goals of the first half to build a 15-4 halftime lead, then scored twice in the first 3:01 of the second half to open up a 17-4 advantage.
Dominique Mosca played the first 50:40 in goal for LIU Post and recorded three saves before giving way to Katie Hannan, who allowed two goals without notching a save the rest of the way. Maria Ploof (Middlebury, Vt.) made nine saves in 50:40 of action for the Penmen in goal before Alex Tepper (Flanders, N.J.) went the rest of the way. The Pioneers outshot Southern New Hampshire 40-13 and controlled 23 of 33 draws on the afternoon.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Tuesday afternoon when it hosts the University of Bridgeport in a 4:00 contest at Larkin Field.
