No. 5 West Chester Hands No. 13 IUP First Loss

INDIANA, Pa. –
Fifth-ranked West Chester
University won the battle of conference unbeatens, 15-8, with a
road win over 13th-ranked Indiana (Pa.) Saturday afternoon.
West Chester (11-2, 8-0 PSAC) remains undefeated in PSAC play with its win over Indiana (Pa.) (11-1, 8-1). The Golden Rams lock horns with arch-rival Lock Haven on Sunday afternoon in a battle of the only two unbeatens left in the PSAC. The winner takes over sole possession of first place and has the inside track on hosting the postseason tournament.
The Golden Rams scored four unanswered goals late in the first half to break a 3-all tie, then added another tally right before halftime to take an 8-4 edge into the locker room. Glassey, who finished with four goals on the day, had back-to-back tallies during that decisive four-goal run.
West Chester then put the game away with another four-goal spurt early in the second half to lead 12-4 with 19 minutes left. Sarah Dennison scored twice in that run.
Jamie Dolan finished with four goals and five points on the day. Theresa Giunta scored twice and added an assist while Tori Dugan notched one goal and helped out on three others. Nicole Pyle and Caroline Kuchinsky scored West Chester’s other two goals.
Coleen Berlin led IUP with a pair of goals.
Jess Henderson (10-2) made seven saves in the cage for West Chester. Chelsea Hipp made two saves in the first half in goal for IUP while Kaitlin Sterling made three saves after halftime.
The Golden Rams and Lady Eagles meet in Lock Haven on Sunday at 4 p.m.
