Drown Signs On As Head Coach at St. A's

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Holly Drown has been named as the
Saint Anselm women's lacrosse head coach, announced Dr. Jo-Ann
Nester, director of athletics. Drown served as the program's
assistant coach during the 2010 season.
"I am very pleased that Holly Drown has agreed to be our new head
women's lacrosse coach," said Nester. "She has a wealth of
experience, is totally committed to developing our lacrosse program
and she has a commitment to excellence which I believe our
student-athletes will appreciate and commit to as well. Holly
served as our assistant coach this past season and I was very
impressed with her abilities."
"Our players have a solid respect for Holly's abilities, her
background and her expertise. I think Holly is a very good hire for
Saint Anselm lacrosse and we look forward to this year and her
arrival as the head coach."
A 2009 University of Massachusetts graduate, Drown was a four-year
lacrosse player for the Minutewomen. She played in 69 career games
for UMass, scoring 80 goals and 13 assists for 93 career
points.
"I am thrilled for the opportunity to be the head women's lacrosse
coach at Saint Anselm College," said Drown. "I believe this program
has a lot of potential and I look forward to building on the
traditions of academic and athletic success that have already been
established. I would like to thank Athletic Director Jo-Ann Nester
and the rest of the Saint Anselm athletic community for their
belief in my ability to lead the women's lacrosse program."
As a senior, she was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament
team and the All-Conference Second Team. Additionally, she was
named to the 2009 All-Conference Academic Team and she was a member
of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Student-Athlete Honor
Society.
A native of Nashua, N.H., she has served as head coach for the
Granite State Elite Lacrosse Club in Amherst, N.H., since the
summer of 2008, where she coached top New Hampshire high school
lacrosse players and assisted them with the college recruiting
process. She also spent two summers working as a lacrosse camp
counselor at the Amonte Sports Camps in Chicago, Ill.
Drown currently resides in Nashua, N.H., and is pursuing her
Masters of Education in School Counseling at Rivier College
(N.H.).
