No. 1 West Chester Shuts Down Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Top-ranked West Chester
University cruised to an 18-2 victory over host Bloomsburg in a
PSAC East women's lacrosse match on Tuesday afternoon.
The Golden Rams (4-0, 2-0 PSAC East) took over sole possession of
first place in the Eastern Division, handing the Huskies (3-1, 1-1)
their first setback on the young season. It marked West Chester's
24th consecutive win dating back to last year and the 41st straight
victory in the conference.
West Chester jumped out to a 9-2 advantage by halftime and rode
its talented defense the rest of the way in shutting out Bloomsburg
in the second half.
Jackie Baker returned from an injury to score four goals and pick
up one assist. Courtney Whiting also tallied four goals in the win.
Chrissy Stokes registered a hat trick and one assist while Claire
Grimwood scored twice and assisted on one other.
Shannon Hayes had one goal and two assists off the bench for the
Golden Rams. Nicole Haines scored twice and picked up an assist.
Gina DiDomenicis posted one goal and one assist.
Mary Beth Green made 14 saves in the cage for West Chester, going
the distance
