'Hurst Has No Problem with Slippery Rock

ERIE, Pa. -- Fresh off its climb up one spot in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association rankings, No. 6 Mercyhurst routed Slippery Rock, 19-3, in a PSAC West matchup.
The Lakers had nine different players score goals, led by five from Breanna Haggerty, to improve to 3-0 overall, 2-0 in the PSAC West. Meanwhile, Slippery Rock falls to 1-4 overall, 0-1 PSAC West.
Katy Miller opened the Mercyhurst scoring blitz just 12 seconds
into the game before Haggerty erupted to score five of the Lakers
next 12 goals to give Mercyhurst a comfortable 13-0 with just over
five minutes remaining in the first half.
After entering hafltime with a 15-1 advantage, the Lakers
contributed four more to the scoreboard from Ally Keirn, Celeste
Shefferly, Jessica Lincoln and Ashley Dulaney.
Lincoln finished with a hat trick for the day, as did Kristie
Jennings. Keirn was also a multiple goal scorer (2), along
with Katy Miller. Reigning Nike/Inside Lacrosse and PSAC West
Player of the Week Jessie Horeth and Kimberly Masterston rounded
out the Laker scorers.
Registering goals for The Rock were Amy Halls, Sam Huenber and
Katie Roof.
Maeve McGoff earned the win for the Lakers while #Ashley
Winkelspecht took the loss.
Next up for the Lakers is an away contest at Shippensburg on
Saturday.
