Fourth-ranked Limestone Throttles Pfeiffer

GAFFNEY, S.C. - The No. 4 Limestone
College women's lacrosse team picked up a 17-8 victory against
Conference Carolinas-rival Pfeiffer University on Thursday
afternoon. The Lady Saints climb to 5-0 in league play (6-0
overall), as Pfeiffer falls to 3-1 in conference play (4-2
overall).
Limestone's Kelly Lickert (Penn Yan, N.Y.) and Melissa Howard
(Ferndale, Md.) each tallied four goals and one assist. Lauryn Wise
(Pasadena, Md.) and Renee Albro (Purcellville, Va.) scored three
goals apiece. Albro's hat trick today marks the fifth consecutive
game she has scored three goals in. Kelly Oterson (Islip Terrace,
N.Y.) scored twice.
Goalkeeper Brigid Milchling (Cockeysville, Md.) picked up her fifth
win of the season after she posted six saves. Albro led the Lady
Saints with three caused turnovers and four ground balls. Erin
Growney (Rochester, N.Y.) got five draw controls, while Katie Ilott
(Whitby, Ontario, Canada) posted four.
The Lady Saints had a 10-4 lead at halftime, and outscored the
Falcons 7-4 in the second period. Limestone held an advantage on
shots (35-20), ground balls (14-11), and draw controls (16-11).
Limestone was a perfect 14-14 in clears, while the Falcons were
16-17. Limestone converted 7 goals from 12 free-position attempts,
while Pfeiffer was 3-5 in free-position shots.
