IUP No Probelm for No. 5 Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The No. 5 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (3-1, 1-0 PSAC West) outshot and dominated Indiana (Pa.) University (0-1, 0-1 PSAC West) on the its way to19-1 win as the two teams opened up Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division play this afternoon at Charlotte E. Smith field.

The Lady Eagles outshot the Crimson Hawks 43-5, including a 28-1 margin in the first half.

Leigh Titus (Towaco, N.J./Montville) and Kate Smyth (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) led all scorers in the game as each player netted the hat trick.

Kayleigh Johnson (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport), Amber Hoch (Souderton, Pa./Souderton), Jaqueline Macone (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) and Jamie Uzialko (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) all had two goals in the win.

Hoch also had game-high two assits.

The Lady Eagles used all three goalkeepers in the contest, but Heather Sacko's (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) dominance in the first half set the standard of play on the defensive end as she picked up the win.

IUP broke into the scoring column at the 18:27 mark in the second half off an unassisted goal by Corrine Miller.

Lock Haven would not give up another goal in the contest, but would score five more times after the Crimson Hawk goal.

The Lady Eagles return to action on Saturday, March 14 when they travel to Slippery Rock for a PSAC West matchup. The contest is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
