Women's Composite Rankings: Carolina Recovers, Holds

A loss early in the week to Northwestern could have knocked North Carolina out of the top spot in the rankings, but the Tar Heels bounced back with a win Saturday over previously unbeaten Maryland in an NCAA finals rematch, enough to keep them atop all but LaxPower's ranking this week. Northwestern's big week - which saw wins over ranked Penn State and Penn teams in addition to handing the Tar Heels their first blemish - vaulted the Wildcats into sixth, with Syracuse (No. 3), Boston College and Florida (Tied at No. 4) continuing to hover near the top of all rankings.
Each week, we will publish an aggregate of the four major rankings - The Top 20 Lacrosse Magazine, the ILWomen.com media poll, the IWLCA coaches poll and the LaxPower computer rankings. All teams that were either ranked or noted as 'received votes' in one of the polls is listed below.
