Denver Tops UC Davis 9-6 on the Road

DAVIS, Calif. - University of Denver senior Meredith Harris (Middleburg, Va.) had four points off three goals and an assist to help the Pioneers upend UC Davis 9-6 on Sunday afternoon.
DU's (11-1, 5-0 MPSF) win over the Aggies (6-6, 1-4 MPSF) was head coach Liza Kelly's 100th victory while at Denver. Kelly is now 100-40 as a Pioneer and 164-73 overall.
"Davis always comes to compete and today was no exception," said Kelly. "I think they made our team better today with how they competed. We are looking forward to getting back home and getting back to work."
Denver jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first 8:06 of play and would not be seriously threatened for the remainder of the game, as the Aggies could only pull within three with 4:46 left in regulation.
Junior Jill Remenapp (Woodbine, Md.) had four assists, while sophomore Rachael McKinnon (Brooklin, Ontario) recorded a hat trick for the Pioneers.
Redshirt junior Hannah Hook (Arnold, Md.) made seven saves, including four in the second half. Additionally, Hook added a groundball for DU.
The Pioneers return home to face San Diego State on Friday at 4 p.m. MT. The game will have a live television broadcasted on Altitude.
