Ohio State Handles High Point for 3rd Straight Win

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore midfielder Cian Dabrowski collected a career-high five points as the No. 18 Ohio State women's lacrosse team won its third-consecutive game, defeating High Point, 13-5, Monday afternoon at Ohio Stadium. With the victory the Buckeyes improve to 5-0 at home this season.
Junior Jackie Cifarelli, who capped the 100-career assist milestone on Sunday vs. Northwestern, had four points on three goals and an assist, while senior Katie Chase boasted three points on two goals and an assist. Senior Kaila Gottlick had a pair of goals and juniorMary Kate Facchina also joined the scoring with a goal and an assist. Defensively, junior goalie Tori DeScenza improved to 5-3 with three saves and four groundballs vs. the Panthers. Sophomore midfielder Christine Easton notched a game-high four draw controls at the 'Shoe.
Chase began the team's afternoon with a goal at 26:01 on an unassisted score. After High Point tied it 1-1, the Buckeyes then went on a 6-0 run to make it 7-1 at half. Dabrowski claimed back-to-back goals at 22:29 and 22:00, respectively. Facchina was credited with an assist on Dabrowksi's first goal. Gottlick made it 4-1 after working her way in front of net for score at 12:24. Cifarelli then earned the team's fifth goal on a Dabrowski's first assist of the season at 10:55. Cifarelli leads the team with 30 points in 2014.
