Stetson No Match for Campbell, William & Mary

DeLAND, Fla. - The William and Mary lacrosse team cruised to a 21-3 victory at Stetson on Saturday morning.
The Tribe (2-3) utilized a balanced attack, as 12 different players scored at least once in the lopsided victory. Freshman Collier Campbell recorded a team-high six points (1g, 5a), while junior Taelor Salmon and sophomore Kaleigh Noon both finished with three goals and one assist apiece. Senior Kyrstin Mackrides also came up big offensively with three goals.
W&M dominated the draws, 19-7, as senior Caitlin Murphy nearly equaled a single-game school record with eight while freshman Zoe Boger totaled seven.
Defensively, senior goalie Katie Geary and junior goalie Colleen Nofi combined to allow just three goals, while senior Brett Hayes posted three caused turnovers.
The Green and Gold quickly took control of the contest and scored the game's first eight goals. Salmon and Noon both found the back of the cage three times apiece during the opening stretch.
Although Stetson (0-4) finally got on the scoreboard at the 10:35 mark, W&M closed the half on a 5-1 run to build a comfortable 13-2 advantage at the intermission.
In addition to owning a convincing lead, W&M dominated the draws in the opening stanza, 12-4.
While each team managed just one goal apiece during the first 17:47 of the second half, W&M closed the game on a 7-0 run to earn the triumph.
The Tribe will return to action when it plays at Jacksonville on Friday.
