Richmond Gets In Quick Command vs. St. Joe's

PHILADELPHIA -- Richmond dominated St. Joe's, 14-7, en route to its first A-10 win of the season Sunday in Philadelphia.

The Spiders dominated from the first whistle, scoring the game's first eight goals to take a commanding 8-0 lead with 8:38 left in the first half. The Hawks would only muster one goal in the first frame, as Richmond took a commanding 9-1 advantage to the break.

Saint Joseph's tried to rally, getting within an 11-6 deficit, after scoring three straight goals, but Richmond's early lead proved too much as the Spiders scored three more goals to end the game.

Kara Moschetti led Richmond with four goals, while Mary Flowers and Sam Stevenson each recorded a hat trick. Flowers had a team-high six points, adding three assists to the cause, while Stevenson added two dishes for a five-point day.

Tara Coyle recorded a team-high four ground balls, while Flowers and Jess Miller each had three. Stevenson had a team-high four draw controls, while Flowers caused a team-high three turnovers.

Victoria Roebuck had 14 saves in goal as Richmond improved to 5-6, 1-1. Saint Joseph's fell to 4-7, 0-2.
