Parker's Five Goals Lead Albany Over Stanford

ALBANY, N.Y. - UAlbany sophomore midfielder
Ariana Parker recorded six points (five goals, one assist) in
UAlbany's final non-conference game victory against Stanford, 11-9,
on Friday, March 30 at John Fallon Field. Great Dane junior attack
Rachel Burek and freshman attack Maureen Keggins each tallied
mult-point performances in the victory with three and two,
Stanford's Emilie Boeri and Emily Newstrom each record three or more points in the contest. Boeri tallied four goals and Newstrom had the conventional hat-trick of three goals.
UAlbany quickly jumped out to a three-goal lead, 4-1, with 11:50 left to play in the first half. UAlbany's Parker would lead the charge with three of her five total goals during the run.
Stanford came right back to tie the game, 5-5, with 50 seconds left in the half. Both Emily Newstrom and Emilie Boeri each had two goals apiece to even the contest.
Stanford and UAlbany would trade goals, to begin the second half, for the next 20 minutes with the Cardinal sisters Emilie and Anna Boeri hooking up for game-tying goal to lock the game up at nine with 9:22 left to play.
UAlbany would then tally two more goals to go up 11-9 with 6:12 remaining in the game. With 2:20 remaining, Stanford would make a push to cut the deficit down with Cardinal senior attack Anna Boeri taking a shot but would be denied by Great Dane goalkeeper Anna Berman to close out the game.
UAlbany begins its final five-game conference schedule against Binghamton on Wednesday, April 4 at John Fallon Field.
