Remenapp Helps Denver Down Delaware

DENVER - University of Denver freshman Jill Remenapp (Woodbine, Md.) had two goals and three assists to lead the Pioneers to a 13-9 victory over Delaware at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium on Wednesday night.
Senior Melissa Maier (Farmingdale, N.Y.) added two goals and two assists, while redshirt junior Kara Secora also tallied two goals and one assist. Freshman Rachael Dillon(Mount Sinai, N.Y.) and sophomore Gretchen Nace (Rochester, N.Y.) both scored two goals.
"I was happy to walk away with a win tonight," head coach Liza Kelly said. "We needed to come out stronger in the second half and play a full 60 minutes at a competitive level."
Denver (7-1, 2-0 MPSF) jumped to an early lead and took a 7-1 lead to halftime.
The Pioneers increased the lead to eight goals with 26:57 remaining, but Delaware (2-8) closed the gap in the second half with a 7-3 run the rest of the way. Denver held a substantial 33-16 shot advantage over Delaware.
Denver goalkeeper Ashley Harman (Boyertown, Pa.) recorded five saves in the win, while Delaware's goalkeeper Alex Zaugra made 11 saves. Caitlin McCartney led Delaware with four goals.
Denver next takes on Drexel at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium on Friday, March 30 at 1p.m. MT.
