Aztecs Picked 7th in MPSF Preseason Poll

WOODLAND, Calif. -- The San Diego State lacrosse team has been picked to finish seventh in the 2012 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) preseason coaches' poll, the league announced today.
The Aztecs, who begin their first season of lacrosse this February, picked up 15 points in the preseason poll. The 15 points are just one less than Saint Mary's (16 points) for sixth place and six more than Fresno State (9). SDSU is the only first-year program in the MPSF. Stanford has been predicted to win the league with 48 points, including six first-place votes. Oregon grabbed the other two first-place votes and is picked second with 44 points.
San Diego State kicks off its inaugural season on Feb. 11 against Ohio State in a neutral game in Palo Alto, Calif. The Aztecs' first-ever home contest is on Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. PT against Cincinnati.
