BALTIMORE -- Johns Hopkins women's lacrosse coach Janine Tucker announced the 2011 women's lacrosse 16-game regular-season schedule today. The Blue Jays schedule features two nationally televised ESPNU games as well as five teams that participated in the 2010 NCAA Tournament.

Johns Hopkins opens the regular season with back-to-back home games against George Mason (Feb. 19) and Mt. St. Mary's (Feb. 23) before a three-game road swing. The Blue Jays will travel to Princeton (Feb. 26), followed by games at Stony Brook (Mar. 5) and nearby Towson (Mar. 9). Hopkins trip to Stony Brook, site of the 2011 NCAA Championship, will be the first in program history for the Blue Jays.

Hopkins then returns home to face the Georgetown Hoyas on ESPNU (Mar. 16) prior to traveling to Cambridge, MA to take on Harvard (Mar. 20) in its first-ever visit to Jordan Field. Three days later, Hopkins will be back at Homewood Field to face perennial power Penn (Mar. 23) on ESPNU and then George Washington (Mar. 26). The Blue Jays wrap up the month of March with a trip to Philadelphia for just the second all-time meeting with the Drexel Dragons (Mar. 30).

April opens with American Lacrosse Conference play for Hopkins as the Blue Jays host the Vanderbilt Commodores (Apr. 3). The game against Vanderbilt wraps up a stretch that will see Hopkins play five games in just 14 days. Road trips to Florida (Apr. 9) and UMBC (Apr. 13) follow. Hopkins will close out the regular season with three straight ALC games as the Blue Jays will host five-time NCAA Champion Northwestern (Apr. 16) and Penn State (Apr. 23) before traveling to Ohio State (Apr. 30). Vanderbilt will host the 2011 ALC Championship, scheduled for May 5-7 in Nashville, TN.
