Albany Names Davos As Women's Assistant

ALBANY, N.Y. – University at Albany head women's
lacrosse coach John Battaglino announced today the hiring of
Jessica Davos as assistant coach. Davos spent the previous two
seasons as a Harvard University assistant.
At Harvard, Davos worked for Lisa Miller, her college head coach at
Syracuse University. The Crimson posted their best Ivy League
record in four years and had three all-league players in 2010.
Prior to that position, Davos served as the head coach at Bryant
University for one season. She guided the Bulldogs to a 10-8 record
in the program's final NCAA Division II campaign. Bryant also
finished third in the Northeast-10 Conference with a league mark of
7-3 and three players earned all-conference recognition.
In 2007, Davos was the head coach at Bentley College, a Division II
program that also competed in the Northeast-10 Conference. She led
the Falcons to their best season in seven years with an 11-6
record, improving the team's win total by four from the previous
season. Bentley placed third in the league standings and reached
the conference postseason tournament championship. Four Falcons
received all-conference honors and one was chosen to the IWLCA
All-America second team.
A native of Albany, N.Y. and a graduate of Albany Academy, Davos
also worked at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as both an
assistant women's soccer and women's lacrosse coach.
Davos (formerly DeRosa) earned four varsity lacrosse letters at
Syracuse, where she received an undergraduate degree in English and
textual studies. The Orange had a combined 44-19 record during her
career, plus qualified for three NCAA Division I Tournaments and
won the 1999 ECAC championship. She was selected to the 2002 Big
East Conference Academic All-Star squad.
At Albany Academy, Davos was named to the 1998 U.S. Lacrosse
All-America Team and was chosen CDWLL Player of the Year. She
earned consensus All-Area honors in soccer and lacrosse. Davos and
her husband, Jim, have one daughter, Alexa.
