Wilton, Blue Come Up Big Again for BC

The No. 14 Boston College women's lacrosse team defeated the
University of Vermont on Sunday, 20-8. The Eagles improve to 10-5
overall and is 1-4 in the ACC, while UVM drops to 7-8, and 1-3 in
the America East.
Boston College exploded offensively with seven different Eagles
tallying a goal. Junior Brittany Wilton and sophomore Brooke Blue
each scored five goals, with Wilton adding three assists for a
total of eight points on the day. Freshman Moira Barry notched
three goals and two assists, while junior Ginny Gummersall and
seniors Kristin Igoe (two assists) and Jill Amo (four assists) each
had two goals. Senior Hannah Alley tallied a goal as well.
The Eagles came out strong offensively, during one stretch, BC
scored eight straight goals and with 3:27 remaining in the first,
Wilton scored on a Blue assist, to go up 10-4 at the break. Boston
College didn't let up in the second half, scoring another 10 goals.
The Eagles closed out the game scoring five straight goals, capped
off by an Amo goal on an assist from Jill Rekart with 1:27 to
play.
Boston College will now travel to Cary, N.C., to play in the ACC
tournament on Thursday.
