Hanley, Drabin Lead Bonnies Over LaSalle
from press release
ALFRED, N.Y. - Christine Hanley and Danielle Drabin each booked five points on four goals and an assist to pace St. Bonaventure (5-6, 2-3 Atlantic 10) to a 15-10 victory over La Salle (4-10, 0-5) Friday afternoon at Alfred University's Merrill Field.
Hanley found the back of the net three times and assisted on Drabin's goal in a 5-0 scoring run for St. Bonaventure that made it 6-2 with 4:46 to go in the first half.
SBU, playing its third game of the year at Alfred's Merrill Field, also scored four unanswered in the second half to take an 11-4 lead that was too much for the Exlporers to overcome. Despite notching three of the game's next four goals to pull within three, 12-9, La Salle surrendered consecutive goals to Callahan just 27 seconds apart to end the threat.
Freshman Cara Callahan added four goals – all in the second half – and sophomore Emily Kane tallied once and dished off a pair of assists. La Salle's Melanie Sarcinello (4g) and Samantha Tulskie (3g, 1a) had four points apiece.
The Bonnies return to action on Sunday at Temple (4-9, 2-2) in
another Atlantic 10 contest.
