Surging Richmond Holds Off Temple for Fourth Straight Win

from press release

PHILADELPHIA -- Richmond scored 10 first-half goals and withstood a Temple rally to down the Owls, 13-9, for its fourth-straight win Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia.

The Spiders improved to 7-7 overall and are tied for first place with a spotless 4-0 mark in A-10 play.

Richmond started the game in style, scoring two goals within the first minute. Each team went goal for goal with Richmond having the 4-3 edge with 19 minutes left in the first.

The Spiders then exploded for six unanswered tallies to take a commanding 10-3 lead into the break. Temple outscored Richmond 4-1 to start the last frame to cut the deficit to 11-7 but Richmond's Danielle Schaevitz added a tally to give the Spiders' back breathing room.

The Spiders outshot Temple 31-22 and won the draw 15-9. Victoria Roebuck had nine saves in the net.
