from press release
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The No. 17 Boston
College lacrosse team defeated No. 7 Virginia, 12-6 for the Eagle's
first ACC victory of the season. The win also marks the first
victory over Virginia since BC joined the ACC in 2005. The Eagles
improve to 8-4 overall and 1-3 in the ACC, while Virginia falls to
6-5, and 0-3 in the conference.
The Eagles had several players score multiple goals. Seniors Hannah
Alley and Kristin Igoe, junior Sam Taylor and freshman Moira Barry

for BC.
Boston College jumped out to an early 6-1 halftime lead. After an
early second half Virginia goal, the Eagles responded with six
straight goals. Boston College's largest lead of the afternoon was
12-2, on a Sam Taylor goal with 9:17 to play in the game. Despite a
late push by the Cavaliers, scoring four goals in the final two
minutes, the Eagles were able to secure the victory.
Boston College will look to stay on track when they host Duke next
Saturday, April 9, at 1:00 p.m. This will be the last regular
season ACC game for the Eagles, as well as Senior Day.
