Drexel Dominates Binghamton, Improves to 4-1

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's
lacrosse team dominated play in a 10-4 win against Binghamton.
Drexel (4-1) outshot the Bearcats (1-6) 33-12 and had seven players
score at least one goal. The Dragons are now 2-0 at Vidas
Field.
Sophomore Alyse Maiden tied her career high with three goals, while
teammate Kelli Joran tied her career high with two goals. Maiden
now has 13 goals on the season. Drexel's Katie Blazer, Charlotte
Wood, and Jaclyn Klunder recorded assists for the Dragons.
The Dragons started a 7-0 run after an unassisted goal by Maiden at
22:04. Kelli Joran, Kaitlin Harris, Amanda Norcini, Katie Blazer,
and Amanda Gregg put points on the board and created a solid lead
for Drexel. Binghamton's Beth Moore scored an unassisted goal and
looked to create momentum for the Bearcats.
With less than two minutes remaining in the first half,
Binghamton's Ali Castiglie scored another quick goal. The Dragons
were up by five, 7-2, at the end of the first half and held on to
the lead for the rest of the game.
Drexel's defense kept pressure on the Bearcats throughout the game.
Binghamton finished with 21 turnovers to Drexel's 11. Senior
goalkeeper Whitney Johnson registered five saves and four
groundballs. Johnson and Maiden lead the Dragons in
groundballs.
The Dragons return to action on Sunday, March 20 at 1:00 p.m.
against La Salle at Vidas Field.
